surprise, surprise, surprise!

This month was a busy month. Ange’s sister Kristin and friend Jake Willetts made a surprise visit from the Carolinas  on May sixth. We drove out to the airport and picked them up and Ange was absolutely thrilled to have time with her sister and was glad to see her friend again. It was the first since Ange moved to California that her sister Kristin has been able to visit. We had a whirlwind tour of many of the tourist attractions that are located in the Los Angeles area. Here are a few shots I would like to share with you.

Here are Ange and her sister Kristin at Burbank Airport.  It is a much better alternative to LAX.  You have never seen two sisters that love each other as much as these two!

The first day in L.A. we went to Hollywood (AKA HOLLYWEIRD) our tourists saw the Hollywood sign, Hollywood Blvd, here they are eating at the Hard Rock Cafe and then we drove down to Venice Beach to see some more um…. strange sights 🙂  We finished of the evening with a drive up PCH and up Sunset Blvd.

End of the trail partner 🙂 this is the sign where Route 66 ends the road meets the the pier and and Pacific Ocean. Pretty cool isn’t it!

The day we went to Santa Monica was very windy and the wind surfers were out. It is so beautiful to watch, it is like poetry in motion. AWESOME!

Kristin got to spend some time behind the camera practicing with off camera flash. Caleb was her model. He still has that dimple…. I LOVE IT! Great job Kristin!

Saturday Night night we took Kristin to the famous Whisky A Go Go the launch pad for many artists like The Doors, Janis Joplin, Pink and famous artists Van Halen and Alice Cooper have played there as well. The bands that night were a nice mix.

These two pictures are from a  N.O.N.

Then Sunday came- a day of goodbye’s. Kristin wanted to see Rachael and Annabelle one more time on her way to the airport.

It was so hard to see Kristin go. Ange has been here for over five years and this is the first time Kristin has been able to visit. There were no dry eyes.  In fact even as I write this it brings that day back and it’s hard to write about.  My kids are planning a garage sale so we can help bring their family out. Family means the world to Ange as it does to our family as well. We are family people- like I have said before I am a people person. We have love and compassion in our hearts which comes from the love of God.

Daniel Donna,
That was a beautiful recap of Kristin’s visit.
It really was a pleasure and blessing to meet her.
Ange has spoken so well and so much about Kristin for so long yet all that Ange said pales in comparison to meeting Kristin person.

Ange,
It was a blessing to see you and Kristin together.
You two have something very rare and very special.

Kristin,
It truly was a joy to meet you and visit with you.
You were a real trooper with the smoke bombs Caleb kept wanting you to watch. 🙂
Oh yes, I will be sending the tarantula pic soon. 😀June 3, 2011 – 2:18 pm

angela batts This is BEAUTIFUL what you wrote and it still makes me cry when I think about how much I miss her. I am thankful for your family accepting me and even more so accepting her with open arms when she came. What a blessing! Thank you to each and every member of the Flores family for making this a home away from home for not only me but for my family as well. I love you all!June 2, 2011 – 1:30 pm

angela batts I had a BLAST that week! I’m so glad we got to do all those things while they were here. You nailed it – I love my sister dearly and eternally grateful for her. She is becoming quite the photographer as evidenced in that shot of Caleb! Great pics that you took as well! 😀June 2, 2011 – 1:14 pm
